What is Manual Translation Project?

The goal of the Manual Translation Project (MTP for short) is to translate most all GNU Manuals (CVS, Texinfo, Bash, GAWK, Make, recode, ...) into as much languages as possible.

This includes the man-pages of the appropiate programms, utilities etc. This should be done to increase the number of persons who are able to use GNU-Software (Free).

YES there are people out there who don't have enough english reading skills to understand the manuals ;-)

I think we can also translate free available books, manuals etc. but this is depending on the distribution/Copyrights license of the books or manuals.

The first step of this project is to translate the complete CVS Manual into many different languages. Currently these are german, french and portuguese.
